My students need two sets of books with CDs so they can listen to their favorite books read aloud so they can become better readers themselves.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an urban area. Most of my students are immigrants from Mexico. They are learning English and need to build their vocabulary. They love books. They love learning to read. They love school and work very hard to learn all they can.
Much too often no one reads to my students at home. Most of my students do not have books in their homes. My students need to hear people read fluently and with expression as they learn to read themselves. I have a listening area in the classroom where groups of students listen to books, but many of them have listened to all of my books several times and they are no longer excited to visit my listening area. In the listening area students listen to a story, practice reading the book with a partner and they discuss the book. Because sets of books with Cd's are so expensive I only have a few sets and that doesn't last very long with these eager readers.
I would like to be able to put out a new book each week. In order to do this I need your help! Please provide sets of books with Cd's so my students can practice fluency, reading with expression, comprehension, and they can build their English vocabulary. This activities helps students because they are listening, reading, and discussing the main idea, characters, setting, and what they liked about the book.
