My Students
I teach 4th grade in a Title 1 school in Utah where many of my students come from low-income homes. They are amazing 9 and 10 year old students who have the world before them. I'm blessed to spend my days teaching and learning with them.
School is the only place where some of them have access to many things we often take for granted.
Being able to provide them with some of the things we might consider insignificant will make a huge difference for them.
My Project
We have Chromebooks available for us to use in our classroom. Sometimes students may need to listen to, or record as they are using them. I would like to have headphones with mic capability available will make it easier for them to complete assignments.
In addition, for some students, being able to use voice typing will allow them to be more successful in their writing.
These headphones will allow all of my students to be successful. We use Google documents on a regular basis and the voice typing feature is not available without a mic. This can be huge for those students who struggle with spelling or keyboarding skills.
