This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 3 groups of amazing, hard-working 5th graders. They love listening to read alouds and recently have fallen in love with our district digital library. In order to fully benefit from the digital library and our devices we need headphones so the outside noise will disappear and they can focus on their reading. I love how excited they get when they find a great book they can listen to or read along with! Help us fall in love with reading again!

My Project

Having headphones available for students will allow them to use their personal devices and classroom devices to enjoy reading with our digital library. They will be able to enjoy reading and find the love again without all outside noise. Currently my students get on the digital library daily during silent sustained reading but very few have headphones and it gets quite noisey where they are not able to focus on the book they are listening to or reading. In a world of high stakes teating so many upper grade students are losing the love or interest of reading and it is so awesome to see these kids so excited!
