Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are kindergarteners who are excited to come to school every day. The students are excited to learn, but they face obstacles in their daily lives. My students sometimes need more time and practice to learn new skills as the majority of them are English Language Learners.
Our neighborhood school is considered high-risk for poverty and is a Title 1 public school.
Our class is culturally diverse and welcomes all students. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We believe all students regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and income should have a chance to learn to their fullest potential.
My Project
The students at our school live in a low income community, and many of them are second language. Many students struggle in core subjects such as reading, writing and math.

We believe all students regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and income should have a chance to learn to their fullest potential. My hope is to receive listening center book sets and cd's in order for my students to hear the English language and follow along in their books.
