I am a second grade teacher in an urban school district. My students are EAGER to LEARN, but without adequate equipment it can be a CHALLENGE to meet their needs. One of our GOALS this year is to build our reading COMPREHENSION and FLUENCY. An important way to do this is by having students listen to stories READ ALOUD. I would love to have a LISTENING CENTER for my classroom. My students would be able to put on headphones and follow along in their book as they listen to a CD or cassette of favorite LITERATURE. Hearing excellent examples of fluent reading will not only IMPROVE their skills, but it is FUN way to ENGAGE them in learning! Please consider helping us as we strive for reading success.
