A typical day in my classroom is full of hands-on activities and lots of movement. My students come to class every day excited and eager to learn. Their excitement drives my passion for teaching and excites me as I see them learning new things daily.
Like most classrooms, I have a wide variety of students, both economically and academically.
I work in a Title I school with a large population of students who struggle with poverty. My students range from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Besides coming from a wide variety of backgrounds, my student all differ in their academic abilities. I try to make sure that my teaching style meets all of their needs, but finding resources to meet all their needs can be difficult.
My Project
Have you ever wanted to connect with other students around the world? How about learn about early Native Americans that crossed the land of Oklahoma when the buffaloes roamed? These are just a few of the many applications my student use technology with in their learning. Through technology, students are able to learn at differentiated learning levels, as well as view information in a variety of learning styles. Students are able to take charge of their learning at their own pace, become independent learners, and strengthen their skills in our technology driven world.
The sky is the limit for students using technology if they are given just but a chance!
We are looking for funding to provide students with a individual headphones and mice for their computers to use in the classroom. Students will use the headphones to listen to various audio programs. The mice will be used for students to better accommodate their learning with more mobility in the wireless mouse systems, allowing for a more seamless transition to the 1-1 technology within the classroom.
