My Students

Do remember how captivated you were when you could curl up and listen to someone read you a story? We want to extend that feeling beyond the home, and bring it into our classroom.

Our Duval Charter School students and families have made the choice to attend a school dedicated to serving each and every student in an individualized way.

Our teachers and administration strive every day to make sure each student has the chance to reach their maximum academic and personal potential.

My Project

Our students come from very different home lives, and have vastly different experiences. I want to create a warm, homelike classroom environment where children can be enveloped in literature. One of the best ways to get better at reading, is to READ!! My students need an organized way to listen to literature. I am requesting a mobile audio station, a red rack for read-a-louds, and a set of read-a-long books.

Not all students have an ideal home life where they are read to every evening.

I want to make sure each of my students has the opportunity to grow as a reader by using multiple strategies to get them there.
