This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
“Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning, but also capable of succeeding.” -- Robert John Meehan
Thank you for your interest in supporting my students and their learning environment.
I teach in an urban setting within a large city where the population of students with special needs and those experiencing trauma are growing. I currently have a K5 classroom with twenty students who are eager and ready to learn. I love my students and I work diligently to create a safe place for them to learn and grow.
My Project
We use headphones in my classroom every day, especially during intervention and learning center times. The students would not only use the headphones to complete work on their Chromebook, but I also would like to keep a couple pairs of headphones in the listening center for students to listen to digital books.
Throughout the past year, our supply of headphones has drastically dwindled.
This year, I have a class of 18 students and we only have eight working pairs of headphones. Because there is not enough head phones, students are having to share them. Students do have the option to bring headphones from home, but not all students can afford to do so.
