Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are inner city low income students who have many challenges that result in academic and personal struggles. They are easily frustrated and not usually motivated, but, with motivation, they will try harder and do better. They are capable of growing levels.

My students are all doing reading and math below grade level which adds to their frustration and lack of motivation, but many of them still want the chance to learn.

If given the opportunity with good multi-modality instruction, they can and will grow academically. Thus, even though they may not have been successful in the past, they can now experience growth in academics and consequently growth in self-esteem and confidence!

My Project

The donations you will kindly contribute to my classroom are vital to their success. We can't use the computer program without good headphones. We need headphones that block out noises except from what the computer is teaching, and we also need to have a good microphone that really picks up voices as students read into the computer.

The glue sticks are necessary for our many projects in other subject areas.

The candy and chips are necessary to reward and motivate students.
