My Students

My students attend an inner city school whose student body is diverse, both academically and socioeconomically. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) supports students as they take rigorous coursework. My classes have high percentages of both English Language Learners and Special Education students.

AVID students are expected to research topics ranging from financial literacy to colleges. Our school has Chromebooks for classes to borrow. Headphones are an essential part of hearing and learning information during online research during class time.

My Project

My AVID students need headphones to interact with online learning such as College research and virtual tours. My AVID students also learn about managing money through online platforms. The ability to hear the lessons is crucial to their success.

Headphones make listening skills possible.

The experience of online learning is strengthened when it feels more personal. Headphones are the best way to make sure information is heard correctly.

Our school has Chromebooks but we lack the resources to add necessary accessories such as a class set of headphones. It's the little things that make a big difference. Thank you for supporting my classroom and my AVID students!
