Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach twenty-four second grade inner city students. This upcoming school year, we are fortunate enough to be getting a set of iPads in our classroom. I am planning to use the iPads for reading and math centers, as well for research with writing projects that we complete during the year.

I am so excited to be able to incorporate technology into my classroom to increase student learning!

I try to get my students as many hands-on learning opportunities as possible, while still staying within my classroom and personal budget.

My Project

The classroom set of headphones will help my students use our new class set of iPads more effectively, especially once they are taught to use them appropriately during small group time. Our classroom iPads will be used in all subject areas, but especially during small reading and math group time, as well as to help us do research for nonfiction writing projects we do throughout the year.

My students deserve as many tools at their hands to help increase their learning and make learning more fun!

I want to get them the tools that they need to succeed and be ready to be successful in the 21st century.
