Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help us get the things we need to have successful literacy centers! First graders love the listening center, but our CD player is broken and we have a small selection of audio books. Please help us build up our read-along library!
Most of the students attended pre-K and kindergarten at our school, and the community of family members, teachers, and other school employees is very strong.
Our school is primarily Hispanic and most of the students come from low-income families. We would really appreciate your help!
My Project
Listening to reading is one of the key elements in balanced reading instruction, and audio books like these allow readers of all levels to access rich and meaningful text! Audio books also provide great opportunities for modeling fluency, which is so important for readers of all levels. I need to increase our collection of high quality books on CD for our classroom listening center and get a CD player that actually works!
My students will be so excited to listen to these rich texts during their literacy centers.
These audio books, CD player, and headphones will help my class of growing readers to be successful!
