This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic about learning and are faced with many challenges both at home and at school. My students live in an area of high poverty and are performing well below grade level. My students are special because they enjoy learning in many different ways. Each student is unique and has an amazing smile. My students are enrolled in a dual language program so they learn in English and Spanish every day! This enables many students who speak Spanish at home to be more successful in school. My students are energetic, motivated, and ready to learn!

My Project

In my classroom I have many students who are learning English and would greatly benefit from listening to audio books in English to work on their listening and language skills.

We currently have several audio book sets that students can listen to but we only have one CD player in the classroom for students to use.

The four additional CD players would enable a group of students to listen to different audio books at a center during reading instruction. The different sizes of storage bags would enable students to keep the books and CDs organized in a bin and easily accessible.
