My students need to be able to hear playback and sound cues from the stage. My students need an Active 300 Watt 12" Monitor Speaker.

A year ago, two colleagues and I discussed the feeling that something was missing at our school. We needed another avenue of expression for our students, a place they could go to learn work ethic, collaboration, and self-confidence. Thus began the first drama program in our school's 20 year history. Our first show wrapped just over a week ago and immediately the talk of the school became, "What and when is the next show?".
We are building this program from nothing and need your help!
MMS is a Title I school in West-Central Georgia, serving 440 students in grades 6-8. The relationships we are building through Drama is our proudest achievement (student/student, teacher/student, administration/student, school/community).
A few additional highlights of our first year of Drama:
-60 students in Drama Club
-30+ auditioned for our first show
-28 participated as actors or technicians
-Write up in the local newspaper (http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/living/liv-columns-blogs/natalia-temesgen/article199631144.html)
-~100 students attended performances
-2 "standing room only" parent/community performances
Last weekend, my students closed the FIRST EVER musical performed at MMS to rave reviews! They accomplished this feat without the technology many would deem necessary. One particular area of difficulty during rehearsals and performances involved audio playback. A stage full of performers singing and dancing must be able to stay with the music. The major problem is, it gets really loud up there!
This monitor would make it possible for my students to hear themselves, musical accompaniment, and sound cues during all future performances.
Being able to hear will greatly increase their individual performances and the overall production quality!
