My Students

My students are readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and social scientists. My students are my small teachers.

In my fifth grade classroom, students come from all walks of life each bringing something beautifully unique to contribute to our classroom community. We live and learn together at a Title 1 school where our inquisitiveness and curiosity drive our learning. We grow from our questions, inquiries, and observations. Our learning does not simply stop when an investigation ends, we are just simply at a new beginning.

My Project

Being from a classroom that is 1:1 with technology students are always using their Chromebooks for some form of activity during each part of our day. In order to effectively use our Chromebooks we need headphones.

Headphones are an essential item for students using technology.

Many of the apps and online resources we use in fifth grade contain a listening aspect. When students do not have headphones to listen to that part of the program, they are not benefiting from everything that is available to them. In order for me to help make things more readily available, I am hoping to gain a class set of headphones so each child will have their own pair to use during online activities.
