This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students have a curiosity for learning and diversity. One of our favorite parts about geography is learning about different types of music, art and customs of other cultures around the world. We always have countless questions about what other places and people are like. My students crave the opportunity to emerge themselves in the everyday lives of people from other communities. I want to give my students the opportunity to listen to firsthand accounts of various geographic topics and explore geography in new and innovative ways.

My Project

We have Chromebooks, which have been an awesome addition to our classroom, but we’d like to make the most of our tools! With a class set of headphones, my students will be able to explore other countries and cultures in new ways. These headphones will allow us to listen to podcasts, watch video clips and open up our ears and minds to the world around us! This project will also be an awesome tool for students of diverse learning backgrounds. Headphones will give the students more freedom to move at the most appropriate pacing for them. The ability to watch, listen and re-watch multiple types of media, is necessary in the technological world we live in.
