Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

There is nothing more magical than being able to see a child's eyes light up with a love for learning. A child's first year in school sets the precedent for years of learning to come. In my classroom, students from all socioeconomic backgrounds come together to learn, play, and grow!

Every moment is a learning opportunity in Kindergarten.

I have the pleasure of guiding them for nine months. My hope is that, in those nine months, I can set them up for a lifetime of learning! They are excited for what each day brings and I am excited to meet it with them!

My Project

Kindergarten literacy center time is crucial to developing great readers and writers! At the Listening center, students are able to hear a book being read while they turn the pages and view the pictures. Since my students have not yet mastered reading, this center is the best way to get them excited about books and reading!

Read Alouds bring stories to life!

Learning to read can be a challenge, but sparking an interest is half the battle! The cd players for our new listening center will help to build vocabulary, especially for my English Language Learners. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that you read, the more things you will know!"
