This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The scholars at my school are full of grit and optimism. My scholars make coming to work a joy each and every day. The 95 sixth graders that I teach all have their unique ways of learning and challenge me every day to be the best teacher I can be.

Technology is the wave of the future, and daily I try to use it to keep my scholars engaged and excited about their learning.

They push me to use their generational know-how to make learning accessible to them. I am excited for you to be a part of my scholars' learning journey!

My Project

Technology has changed how my classroom functions and I am excited to incorporate it into my classroom on a daily basis. The challenge I am facing, however, is that when I want scholars to work independently, they are disturbed by the sound coming from the other scholars' computers. In addition, the bulk headphones we previously acquired are mere parts and pieces.

It is essential for my scholars to use quality and durable headphones to learn each day.

As a science teacher, I use digital labs to have scholars interact with their learning which otherwise would not be accessible in a traditional classroom environment (e.g. chemical reactions and digital field trips) Their focus on these tasks is essential for them to engage authentically with the material. With these headphones, my scholars will be more equipped to hone in on their learning!
