Help me give my students portable cd players, books that include a cd to listen to, and batteries to run the cd players so my students have options during Listen to Reading workstation.
Welcome to my first grade classroom! We love learning in first grade and my students soak up knowledge like little sponges.
My students attend school in a rural district located in Ohio.
They come in ready and excited to learn everyday. They are full of fun, energy, enthusiasm and excitement. They are excited about learning, making friends and sharing their stories. They love using technology because it empowers them and allows them the opportunity to be creative. They love learning in new and exciting ways. They love flexible seating options that allow them to get their wiggles out while focusing on work in class.
My main goal on a yearly basis is to assist every child in growing to their fullest potential. I push them to excel and meet high expectations whether that is in my classroom or out in the great, big, beautiful world.
My Project
My students love to listen to books being read aloud. My first graders are just learning to read so having the option of someone reading to them is something that they love. When we do our Daily 5 workstations we currently have 1 big cd player that a couple students share and listen to the same story together.
Getting portable cd players would allow more students to choose Listen to Reading.
Students would be able to choose a book with cd and a portable cd player and return to their area to listen to the book.
We currently have about 25 books that include a cd for the students to listen to while they turn the pages of the book. In this project, I have also added a couple new books with cds.
