My students are amazing. As the year has progressed I have seen my students develop into readers, writers, mathematicians, and critical thinkers. Every day my students arrive with a ready smile and eagerness to learn. They have learned how to read with partners and groups and ask more critical thinking questions. They love to read and write creatively. They enjoy listening to read alouds and interact with many questions. Reading for them is a way to experience the amazing world.
My Project
Students at our school do not have many books to read at home. They can check out books from the library, but they don't have books they can call their own. I want to ensure that ALL students have a book to read at home!
"The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss
This helps build parent involvement by providing that at-home connection that many students are missing! My goal is for my students to build a love for reading and in order to build that foundation they need books that can be taken home. My students have a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. The diverse needs makes our classroom unique.
