This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Title One school is blessed with a culturally rich, diverse population, with ninety-two percent of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches, and a high concentration of English Language Learners. Sean Junkin's quote, "So often you find that the students you're trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you," applies to my classroom every day.

Our students have generous hearts that will change the world if they are given opportunities to share their passions and learning with others.

My Project

Over half of the students in my classroom are ELL students. The ability to listen to books during reading center times is vital to their vocabulary and reading development. Our class has received iPads. I want to be able to use these iPads for listening centers by allowing my students to listen to books on their iPads. However without proper, working headphones listening to stories becomes impossible. My students love books but many struggle to be able to read. Please help my students be able to listen and learn by funding our need for quality headphones that are sturdy and can withstand first grade use over the course of time.
