Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like the very first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? My students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations, but then again they have also never met Eric Carle.

My students are such a vibrant young group who are more than ready to learn.

They come from diverse backgrounds and a high poverty area. Why should that hinder their learning experience? It shouldn't. They have the right to learn just as much as any other child.

My Project

Once my students get this new listening center along with the read along books they will be able to follow interesting stories. Reading along with books will increase their vocabulary which then teaches them to read. Don't you want to be that spark of light?

Every student deserves the right to a wide variety of books and listening tools.

Why should my students be any different? Go on and give a child a chance to learn and broaden their horizons.
