My Students

I am a first year teacher who is looking to provide my students with every possible resource I can to help them succeed. I have 19 precious first graders with a yearning to learn. They are at the young crucial age where the foundation of their education is being laid. Some of my students come from well supported families, but some are not so lucky to have the same resources as others. Many have faced difficult challenges that no 6 year old should have to endure.

My students are young, curious, loving children with the biggest hearts, despite the struggles they face.

We are a community, home away from home, in which we support, care for, and learn from one another. My goal is to support my students, and give them the resources, support, and love they deserve.

My Project

Students learn best in small groups using hands on manipulatives. I want to provide my students with a listening center they can go to during center time. My students lack access to technology, which is important with this upcoming tech savvy generation.

When students are listening to stories being read aloud they are developing critical comprehension skills.

They will be able to listen to fluent readers and follow along in a book - Books by Dr. Seuss where they can practice rhyming words and other engaging stories they love. My hope is to capture their interest and keep them at this center for longer periods of time.
