Help me give my students an online Spanish listening center. The iPads will allow them access to online books. They will have the ability to scan QR codes to access links of online books to listen to.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of one of the few dual immersion programs in the South Bay. This program allows students to become bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English. Many of our students in the program do not have Spanish at home therefore their language development is done entirely with a dual immersion teacher.
I have the blessing of watching these bright young minds immerse themselves in a language and a culture that is very different than their own.
Many of my students are also learning a third language which encourages them to make strong connections between languages and even cultures.
My Project
The students in my classroom need more access to Spanish texts. My class is comprised of mainly native English speakers and for a Dual Immersion classroom, I am the only source of Spanish they have. I conduct read alouds daily however I want my students to have access to more Spanish literature. I want to encourage my students to use the iPads and headphones to listen to Spanish texts online and hear other voices speak Spanish other than my own. It also allows those students who do not have technology at home to have access to additional resources in class. As of now, I am starting with two iPads in hopes of having a set of 5 for a small group.
Stories come in all languages.
I want to show my students a variety of books in Spanish online. I want to encourage my English only students that there are plenty of books in Spanish that they can listen to and enjoy. I want them to be proud of their bilingualism and listening to stories can help encourage them.
