Listen, Read, Record and Share = Successful Reading and Storytelling
My students need Chromebook laptops to be able to use during ELA. This will allow them to use RAZ-kids, they can record their voices/stories then listen back to them to improve fluency and accuracy.
I am an international teacher teaching in a the Cumberland County school district. My school is based in Fayetteville, North Carolina not far from Fort Bragg which is the largest military base in the USA.
My class have such an appetite to learn and it is such a rewarding feeling to see them so excited.
We have a high population of military children in our school. A high proportion of the children in my class have parents currently serving in the US military.
My Project
I aim to use these Chromebooks to promote the use of Pixtoon, Powtoon, Storybird and RAZ Kids software. This will allow my children to develop in their digital literacy skills and digital storytelling.
They will be able to use a range of apps and software that will allow them to be creative, self motivated and digital citizens.
These apps are open ended which allow the children to think out of the box and really apply themselves. It allows them to select their own pictures and create/record a narrative to go with it. RAZ Kids is a structured reading app that will allow the children to access the reading curriculum at a self paced level where they can see what they need to be able to move forward with their reading. This software allows them to really explore a book and story telling in many ways through the use of storytelling as a response to what they have read. Once they have done this they can share this with others to listen to.
