This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our two high school students are quiet and shy as English is their second language, but they are very inquisitive which excites this librarian. They venture into the library for assistance as I am able to translate materials into Spanish.

My Project

We have two high school students whose primary language is Spanish. At this time they are having a difficult time comprehending the novels in their English classes.

With your support, we hope to use the devices to check out and download the novels or audiobooks in their primary language.

This will allow them to listen to the novel in their primary language and better comprehend the stories in their book studies without becoming embarrassed or frustrated. This option would ease their frustration and increase their confidence in trying to learn with the rest of their class.
