This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." - Nelson Mandela.
Every day my kids walk into my classroom so full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
They come from various cultures and economic statuses. My kids love to read and write. They just need the "write" tools. I want to give them the resources to read, write, draw, and to be as creative as they can be!
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
My goal as an educator is to teach and provide the resources for my students to reach their given potential, in order for them to change the world.
My Project
All of my students enjoy reading and love listening to a story. Reading is an active process. As we listen to these Read- Alouds we will add movements big and small to help tell the stories. After listening to parts of the story students will create a frozen picture with their bodies to practice retelling and get moving. Thus, qpromoting play in a fun way that combines learning, movement, and physical fitness which is extremely important for teaching the whole child.
Physical movement helps struggling and unmotivated students experience more success as they tackle more complex texts.
My students will enjoy learning new and exciting ways to be fit!
