Welcome to our room! My Kindergarten and first graders are the most amazing group of children! They come to school everyday excited to learn and "grow their brains stronger." They are more than eager that they will one day be the leaders of the world.
Almost 97% of our school population come from low-income, but what we lack in funds, we make up for it in effort and enthusiasm.
Our school and the children's home is located on the west side of Chicago where they face many challenges everyday. These students still come to school energetic and ready to learn. Being their teacher, it is my duty to make sure they receive the best education to go as far as they can.
We have a happy and inclusive classroom. I a lucky enough to teach students with a variety of diverse needs and backgrounds; special education and general education combined. Everyday is a new learning opportunity. I am here to learn from them as much as they learn from me.
This listening station will make such a huge difference in our classroom! Words are all around us, and reading is such an essential life skill, yet many of my students struggle to build fluency. Most of my students can not read independently, so hearing and seeing the words will not only be exciting for the students, but also build their reading skills.
When resources are in limited supply we take what we can get- but brand new books will bring an excitement to center time like never before!
This project will help my students feel more engaged in their listening and reading, and bring smiles to their faces.
