My students need these books and CDs to be able to listen to the story and follow along with the book. It is great for their vocabulary acquisition and improving their pronunciation.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are Spanish speakers at home and receive both English & Spanish instruction. Most receive free lunch and do not have technology at home. Harvey took away most of their homes. But it is so amazing to see how they make an effort to overcome that reality. They come to school so eager to learn.Their socioeconomic disadvantage hinders them from competing with others. They are limited on life experiences outside of their neighborhood. They are so hard working and dedicated to being successful.
My Project
We are in great need of a listening center. These books and CD's will make a perfect center where my scholars can sit and listen to a book being read while the follow along. They can work independently which makes them more responsible and gives them ownership about their learning. The variety of titles I have picked are age and level appropriate for my students. I will have 8 students come at a time. They sit and listen to the book being read to them before completing several activities They would be very grateful to get them because we already have the CD player and now we only need the books and CD's to get rolling.
