This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been enjoying this school year getting to know my students in the fourth grade. I have a large class this year with 27 students, who range is different levels of needs.

As I have been getting to know my students, I have learned that some have to share a small living space with multiple siblings.

I enjoy seeing my students come into my classroom knowing that they have a safe, comfortable classroom to enter everyday that is their own.

My Project

While our school has been granted iPads for every student, our headphones have seemed to disappear from the past two years. We enjoy our learning apps on our iPads, but it becomes very loud when all 27 iPads are going with volume turned up. I feel that with having headphones students will be able to have the quiet environment that they need to be able to process the information they are learning.

Some families have been able to provide individual headphones for their child, but not all families can afford that expense.

I hope to be able to provide these headphones for my students.

I have also request a new pencil sharpener for the class. The one I received at the beginning of the year has almost been worn out and is no longer working at its best. Gotta have those pencils!
