My Project

The addition of a listening center in my classroom will add to our print rich environment and help build a love for books and reading. The students in my classroom enjoy having stories read to them and looking through them throughout the day. This is the first school experience for many of my students and they are eager to hear stories over and over again. The listening center will be set up in the technology area of our classroom and students will have daily opportunities to visit this interest area. That is why we are requesting headphones, cassette/CD player and audio books.

The more they listen, the more benefits to enhance their literacy skills.

I have seen how engaged my students are when words come alive on each page as they re-enact the stories in their play and these experiences will provide positive interactions with language and literacy.
