Help me give my students headphones to use with Chromebooks for a more focused learning environment and a mouse for each Chromebook for ease of use for each student.
As a teacher in a low income area, my students are faced with a lot of struggles in and out of the classroom. As a teacher in the area, I am challenged to keep my students focused and learning.
We are a Title I school in a rural area and 100% of our students receive free breakfast daily.
A lot of the students also receive a a free or reduced lunch.
As I enter my classroom, I am faced with getting my students eager and excited about learning. I am also faced with the challenge of keeping them focused an learning. Keeping a child's attention is the a struggle everyday.
My Project
My students need headphones and optical mice to use with our Chromebooks. They need a more focused environment with a quiet space to work and not be distracted by everyone around them. By donating to my project, my students will be able to use headphones to work independently and quietly to concentrate on their work and increase academic achievement.
Chromebooks are used daily in my classroom, especially in math.
Using the technology students are able to learn modeled strategies to solve math equations. The headphones will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide a quieter environment for those around them. What becomes a problem is the fact that only a few students can use the Chromebooks at a time due to the nose level. Even though they are great about trying to ignore everyone, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction. By having headphones, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!
