My students need listening center book sets from well-known authors to read during our leveled reading cluster time.
Reading is the foundation of all learning! I teach an enthusiastic group of kindergarteners who, in large part, are auditory learners. When listening to a great book, my students' reading foundation will be strong and well-grounded.
My kindergarten students are excited to learn to read.
They are from various ethnic backgrounds at our school. I have several English language learners. When we rotate for reading clustering, I teach the intensive reading group which means they need to most help with learning the basics of reading. My cluster group students are enthusiastic when approaching the main components of reading, but they would definitely benefit from listening to more books on CDs. These students just need a few more tools to gain reading confidence. Audio books will help them out tremendously.
My students need listening center book sets from well-known authors to read during our leveled reading cluster time. My students are auditory learners. They listen to explicit verbal directions which I have customized for their ears. I verbally teach lessons in a step-by-step manner so that they can listen and hear each direction clearly. We also sing and listen to music everyday which increases their learning, again through auditory learning. With the audio books and book sets, my students will be able to follow along with the text as they listen to the story which is read with fluency in proper English. This combination will help them develop a love for reading.
My goal is to teach my young students not only to learn to read today, but to grow into a lifelong reader in the future.
Because reading is the foundation for all learning, I hope to plant a strong appreciation for reading in all literacy areas from books to reading on a computer to gain information and knowledge. Your help would provide a tool to move these children forward in learning to love reading!
