My kindergarteners are lively, enthusiastic, and curious bunch of learners.
They love story-time and interacting with literature. One of their favorite things to do is retell stories and role-play the varying characters.
Our school has a rich history as it is over 50 years old. It is also somewhat antiquated in resources as it is difficult to keep up with the modifications at a mature school site. Our school has over 500 students with about 75 kindergarten students.
My Project
My students will enjoy the wireless headphones at the listening center. They will be able to listen to a variety of audio books without dealing with the tangles of old-fashioned wired headphones. The wireless headphones will help promote independence as it is an activity that students can participate in by themselves. They will be able to practice tracking text, turning pages at the appropriate time, and comprehending stories. They will be able to spread out and sit comfortably, thus ensuring a more enjoyable story-time!
This donation to my classroom will help my students enjoy literature more often.
Rather than only during whole-group story-time, they will be able to pick out their own stories and listen independently. It will help develop important literacy skills that are so crucial at the kindergarten level. These wireless headphones will promote reading daily and make it an important part of our day, each and every day!
