My Students
Imagine coming to work every day with a captive audience, ready and excited to learn the many things you have in store for them...this is a description of the students in my first grade class.
First grade is such an exciting time for students and parents.
Each day is a new day, full of exciting things to discover and learn. It is during this time in their lives that I want to capitalize on their eagerness and love for learning. Because I teach at a Title 1 school with a high poverty rate, it is my hope to provide them with experiences that will encourage them and instill in them the confidence and knowledge that anything is possible.
My Project
As a 1st grade teacher, I am always looking for ways to keep my students motivated and engaged in their learning. With achievement demands so great, it is imperative that students have a strong foundation in reading and comprehension. Without these skills, they are at a disadvantage for learning and processing new information. Throughout the day, students rotate through various independent learning stations to reinforce literacy skills and to connect their learning through authentic practice.
The use of the Classroom CD/Cassette Player and the Listen & Learn Early Comprehension Activity Set will allow students to strengthen their skills in phonics, reading, and comprehension.
In addition to this, the Heavy-Duty Pencil Sharpener and the USB Charging Station Dock will allow us to manage and carry out day to day operations in our classroom.
