Lions TV: Connecting our Lions to News at the Hill!
Help me give my students the tools, equipment and confidence necessary to produce and distribute a school and community based news program worthy of the 21st century.
The students of my school and specific program are from the most diverse part of the United States, Queens NY. We are an immigrant community of students, many are first generation Americans. Name a country and a student will raise their hand!
My Project
The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism and Lions TV brings the classroom and the workplace together. This instructional strategy provides students with well-rounded skill sets that go beyond the traditional classroom and includes the soft skills needed to succeed in college and the working world.
AOHT is pushing the students to a new level of professionalism and accountability for all facets of Lions TV production and distribution.
In doing, we are transforming room 224 to the Lions TV studio. This requires furniture and equipment that will meet the needs of 21st-century learning. A setting
that is organized, safe and professional. Our intention is for the students to take ownership of the room and treat it with respect and develop a passion for it as though it is theirs. Student ownership will develop a passion for learning to create a product that brings the program and school together.
