Our school is a wonderful neighborhood school and a true community of friends, teachers, and family. Teachers enjoy working with students and peers. They create a warm and welcoming environment.
Our students are active learners.
They enjoy doing and creating, often by working in collaborative teams. They are innovators and work on 21st-century problem-solving skills daily. The enthusiasm they bring to school is evident by their warm and engaging interaction with all staff members and teachers. They continually seek ways they can help and assist our community. It is a true joy to see them strive to exceed expectations!
Through the use of picture books, we will explore how different animals live, and share our experiences with animals -- both as pets and in the wild. Working in groups, students will be provided with an animal. Students will work cooperatively and collaboratively to design an appropriate animal habitat using the KEVA planks.
"Some people talk to animals.
Not many listen though. That's the problem." ― A.A. Milne The use of the picture books and cooperative group building of animal habitats, we will empower and engage our students. We will discuss how compassion and empathy for all living things can be explored and practiced on a daily basis.
