Hello! I am a third-grade classroom teacher from a Title I school with over 50% of the students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. My students are kindhearted and passionate learners who are very active! They enjoy moving around the classroom and appreciate positive attention and choices.
Many of my students face challenges beyond their control.
I am looking for simple ways to help them become inspired and grow as learners. I want them to come to school and see a place that is safe, comfortable, and flexible enough to meet their needs.
My Project
My students love to learn about the world, and they especially love learning about animals! For this project, I would like to stock my classroom library full of nonfiction texts about animals to encourage my students to read more and build their researching skills.
These National Geographic books are packed full of colorful illustrations and amazing facts sure to inspire my third graders to want to read and learn about the many animals on our planet.
For our upcoming writing project, our students will be asked to practice their nonfiction reading skills to do a research paper. Since we will be studying animal adaptations in science class, students will be spending our reading and writing time learning about different animals and writing about an animal of their choosing. Through this project, I will be able to provide my students a much wider variety of books to choose from that are on their reading levels. This will allow my students to pick an animal that they are truly interested in. Please consider a donation to my classroom today and you will be sure to inspire my young readers and writers to explore the animal kingdom and the vast world outside of their small town.
