This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These titles have been carefully selected so that students are able to see their diversity mirrored in the characters they read about. As we journey through each book together, my students can see themselves and their cultures represented in the adventures we go on. My students are better able to relate to these characters, and therefore create responses to the reading.

The literature I have selected helps to celebrate and honor all of the wonderful and unique differences displayed in my classroom.

As a teacher of English Language Learners, I encourage my students to be proud of all of the wonderful things that make them different and unique.
