Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend an inner-city, urban school. The majority of students come from low-income families and all students receive free lunch. For many of them, the impact of the childhood trauma experienced within home or community follows them into the classrooms daily. Even with these challenges my students still have the desire to be successful.

I need two laptops for my students to complete college and career readiness activities.

Without these laptops, my students will not have access to online resources that will prepare them for post-secondary opportunities.

My Project

College and career exploration begins as early as elementary school. When students are exposed to post-secondary opportunities early they will have a higher rate of success after graduating high school. These laptops will allow my students the ability to take virtual field trips to explore career and college opportunities.

My students will be able to complete district college and career readiness requirements in a timely manner.

These laptops will allow my students to learn beyond the classroom in a safe environment during this current pandemic. Please allow my students the chance to experience limitless post-secondary opportunities.
