My Students
My students are willing to take on this challenge of learning a foreign language. They are a bit shy and scared, as well, about being successful. I love that they trust me to take them on this unknown journey and they expect to be successful.
My Project
The iPad, case, and care package I requested for my students will give them the opportunity to be exposed to several apps that will expose them to additional Spanish materials and activities. I would also like for them to be able to use the iPad to record their presentations. For example, I would ask my students to role-play a restaurant scene, and record themselves and then play it for their classmates to view. Another activity they could do is to also create movies based on a theme or topic I have given them. When students are able to see themselves on camera, they are very fascinated. I have used an iPad before in another school district I worked in, and I was able to do amazing activities with the applications compatible with Apple. I could also use the iPad to record my students and let them see their strengths and weaknesses after their presentations. This would allow them to self evaluate and improve their weaknesses. I could walk around the room with the iPad as well, to get reaction from their peers and allow them to provide feedback.
