My students need the Mimio Interactive System to spark their interest into learning.
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try,” and my students need MOTIVATION! Inspiration is the most powerful tool teachers have. However, inspiring 8 and 9 year old children to learn is much easier said than done.
I teach 19 wonderfully brilliant 3rd graders at a public charter school in Tennessee.
My school only has one interactive classroom available for all teachers to utilize twice a week. My students ABSOLUTELY LOVE any lesson I teach in that classroom. They are always highly engaged and motivated to try even the most difficult task. They are always asking for more time in the interactive classroom.
If I had this equipment available in my classroom, it would allow me to have this technology readily available for ALL lessons. This would give me the diversity to plan lessons that incorporate the latest technology, as well as engaging the students in interactive learning more than twice a week.
Every day I listen to my student enthusiastically share about the games they play on their Nintendo and PSP. They always seem so determined and committed to accomplish the goals set on their game systems. I want my students to apply the same ambition toward their school work! Children today are part of a "tech savvy " generation where simple pencil and paper activities are just not as effective. The Mimio Interactive System is the perfect resource to spark a desire to learn in my students!
The Mimio Board would be an added learning/teaching tool that would create curiosity, and provide reinforcement and immediate feedback.
This would allow my students to share with each other their reasoning behind choices that they have made and allow for them to discuss options which create curiosity and a love for learning. This device will turn a typical classroom lesson into a highly engaging adventure my student will not be able to resist!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
