Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom we do, real, we do I'm sorry's and we do praise! We do learning, we do mistakes and we do respect. We do sharing, we do dreams and we do happiness.
My students, school and fellow teachers need for me to have a class pet!
I try to keep my room feeling like a place of safety and the loving touch an animal brings to life is exactly what we need. Right now I have a plastic bearded dragon and some books on display for the students to see. They are so excited that we are getting a classroom pet. They have been asking me on a daily basis as to when we are getting it.
My Project
I went to the pet store and took some video of the little guy and brought that back to the classroom to show them and it was magical to watch them light up with excitement. I the little dragon is going to be an excellent resource to have for showing them adaptations. This animal will also help with implementing responsibilities for the classroom helpers that are assigned to take care of him. I plan to share the pet with other grade levels and students as well. My final destination is to hopefully have him make his way to the lab, so all visitors can play with him.
During my research and preparing for our new classroom pet I came up with the idea of getting a wireless video camera.
This video camera would offer another form of technology in the science room. It would allow the students a way to view the little guy while at. After all, this is how the real world works when it comes to zoo and animal facilities. I am a grown adult and think it is the coolest thing that I can login to Sea Worlds web came to see the dolphins from my house.
