My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! In class, I strive to turn their natural curiosities into hands-on, active, and engaging projects/challenges that push them to think outside the box! My students think, and work, flexibly - using what they know to be the best tools in order for them to be successful.
It's truly exciting as a teacher to see my third grade students make the change from learning to read to reading to learn.
For many of them, it is during this pivotal year that many will take their learning into their own hands for the first time and truly begin their journey as a life long learner!
My Project
The materials requested in this project will help my students be more successful in their flexible learning environment.
By donating to our project, you will help the students contribute appropriately in a flexible and efficiently organized classroom community.
Currently, we have wobble chairs, benches, standing tables, the carpet and ordinary desks to work at - but with this project being funded we would have the added bonus of dry erase clipboards to work comfortably and flexibly all around the room!
The organization drawers and hanging files will allow us a place to efficiently organize shared materials and supplies. Using these organizational tools will free up counter room or space on the floor for both independent or collaborative work.
The fluorescent light filters will provide soft lighting in the room, so that we can focus truly on our academic content and not minor external factors that may interfere with learning.
Your donation will immediately impact the students of the 2018-2019 school year, but the supplies purchased will continue to support my students for years to come!
