This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am going to be at a new school this year where nearly 100% of the student population is economically disadvantaged. I would like to give my new students the same opportunity to analyze who they are as learners and utilize their strengths to show evidence of their learning.
Students can be so creative in the ways they show their understanding when you give them the supportive learning environment, the materials they need and the opportunity to do so.
I have had students perform a rap, cheer or song, create a board game, create an electronic slide show, make 3D models and the list could go on and on. Their imaginations are limitless!
My Project
I am moving into a new school and a new classroom. I want to create an environment that will be comfortable and engaging. Many times I am creating the games and activities that I will use in my lessons. This takes many supplies
The materials I am asking for will help me create an organized, inviting space and supplies to make activities that will engage my scholars.
Once I create the games and activities using the paper and cardstock, I would like to laminate them to preserve them. The floor lamp and lights will give an option to scholars who prefer a space without bright fluorescent lights. The magnetic dry erase board will help me utilize spaces where whiteboards are not available. Help me engage my learners!
