My Students

I love integrating technology in my classroom whenever possible, but it is a very difficult task since my school has limited resources. We only have two computers in my classroom and one of them doesn't even work properly half the time. We have computer lab time once a week for 30 minutes.

I have been using a Hollywood theme in my classroom for a number of years now.

Each and every year, my third grade students are SO excited about this theme. At the end of the school year, I usually give each student a photo slideshow with all of the pictures that I have taken throughout the year. How amazing would it be to be able to give them video copies of events that happened throughout their time in third grade so that they have these memories forever? My students would be so excited to be able to step behind the camera as the director...and the Flip Video Camera is so easy to use; they could do just that!

My Project

We will use our Flip Video camera every day in the classroom to document how much we are learning! This will be a great way to integrate technology and make learning fun for my students! The students can use the camera to make a variety of videos, from book reports to daily video blogs to movies teaching other classes what we learned that day. The wonderful thing about the Flip Video Camera is that it is so easy to use! The students can create their own videos with the push of a big red button! I just know that my students' eyes would light up when they find out that they could use a video camera to truly become "Hollywood stars".

Gone are the days where the teacher stands in front of the class, lecturing her students about the day's lesson.

The future is now! I want my students to be able to interact with their learning and to share it with as many other people as they can! Help me make learning come alive for my students!
