Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are phenomenal artists who are eager to learn and excited to explore all things messy. We love exploring cultures, artists, and media that allow us to fuse our personal feelings with techniques learned and observed from experts.

We need help funding some essential equipment in the art room.

With 100% of our population receiving free and/or reduced-price lunch, we are a Title I category school in the metro-Atlanta area. Knowing we have families that struggle financially, it is awesome to have local support and online fundraising to help supply my room with art supplies, manipulatives, technology, and resources.

My Project

At the end of January, my District will return to physical school. While maintaining opportunities for families to choose the best instructional method for students, I will be teaching simultaneously (both in-person and online). Teaching in person will pose its challenges with health and safety then balancing instruction online, I will need additional resources and equipment.

The lights and web camera will allow students to see me from multiple perspectives while teaching in-person and online.

The web camera has a wide angle lens and will be placed near the back of the classroom. The art room is located in the interior of the school without any windows leaving the space dark, so the lights will be essential to brighten the space. These two additional tools will maximize our physical space while enhancing our virtual space, too.
