My students need more Legos and supplies! We had great success with our first run of stop-motion animations. However, more Legos and supplemental materials are needed to continue with this project.
My students come from three rural communities in Minnesota: children of farmers, factory workers, school employees, computer programmers, and more. They are hard-working kiddos and are up for techie adventures in my class! I want to offer them amazing activities, but our school doesn't have the extra funding to provide some of these things for us.
Our first go at stop-motion animation projects was phenomenal!
However, more materials to create smaller groups is necessary. We would love your assistance in acquiring these materials to make our stop-motion animations even better!
My Project
I've already completed the stop-motion animation project with two groups of students; I'd like to continue with other students, but need more Legos and other materials!
I'm asking for more of the materials we already have, plus a 10-hub USB charger to charge our LED lights and storage containers.
More Legos, lights, and tripods will allow students to work in smaller groups, and a charger for lights will make the charging process easier & streamlined. Storage containers are needed for Legos, paper, scissors, tripods and lights; we are currently using cardboard boxes, which aren't holding up to repeated usage. Painter's tape allows students to mark camera & stage locations on the floor in our classroom, which lets them place the stage & camera in the same place on multiple days of recording.
Students are learning a lot about animation and the time-consuming processes involved in creating movies, especially moving characters, green-screen backgrounds, and basic movie editing. They are realizing that these processes are a lot more difficult than anticipated!
