My Students

Our school is located in North Georgia, which is in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. This location in Georgia does not afford a thriving community of employment or employment opportunities. Many of the families that live in our area often struggle.

My students come with a varied bag of emotional and academic needs.

My job is not only to teach them the state standards, but to let them know they are valued, heard and loved. I work fiercely with my students so they have every opportunity to advance and show growth.

My Project

Regardless of the subject I will be teaching, a document camera will help me make the most out of any lesson plan by allowing me to move past the whiteboard and into the world of three dimensional shapes.

Out with the old way of instructing and into the present with technology that will help captivate and engage my students.

No more messy transparencies, old maps that wear out over time, wasting blank sheets of paper or replacing overhead projectors.

With a classroom document camera, I can be a guide to this efficient tool. I can display notes and math problems, maps, magazines, newspaper articles and zoom into specific details I want to present. I no longer would have to rely on spotty Internet service or down time searching for articles I already have as great resources. I can share articles and clips without having to spend money on copies for each of my students.
