My Students

Bozhoo! That is how you say hello in Ojibwe. I teach first-grade​ students in a school that is located on a Native American reservation. Most of my students come from generational poverty, which can bring trauma. Every year, I do my best to create a classroom family where each child feels safe, successful, and loved.

My students start each day eager to learn, create, and explore.

My job as their teacher is to help each child reach their full potential. I do my best to find engaging lessons that will help them grow personally and academically so that they can develop a better understanding of the world around them.

My Project

I am requesting this camera and accessories to aid in instruction for my first-grade classroom. This camera will serve as a great tool for capturing memorable moments, for making class books, and for me to create videos of books that will be read to them.

Children LOVE looking at pictures of themselves and their classmates.

Having this camera for my classroom will allow me to take a picture of my students, as they work on projects. The pictures will then be placed on display along with their work. This project will impact so many students over the years by encouraging their language development and academic growth.
